Matt Manders

President, Regional and Operations

Matt Manders is President of Regional and Operations. Throughout his 25-year career at Cigna, he has worked to transform the company into a leader in essential health care services focused on creating an outstanding overall experience for each customer. He is responsible for ensuring that Cigna strikes a balance between access, quality, and cost of care, through our Total Health & Network and Service Operations organizations. He is also accountable for leading the Regional, Select and Group businesses, the Underwriting organization and Informatics.

He previously served as President, Customer Segments, responsible for sales and client management for Cigna's National Accounts, mid-sized employer, government, Taft-Hartley, and Small Business customer segments. Prior to leading Customer Segments, he served as President of Cigna HealthCare’s Middle Market Segment and National Contracting and Provider Services functions. In this latter capacity, Manders was accountable for national contracting and provider strategy, vendor, ancillary and facility contracting, network contracting and management, field hub operations, and the provider data organization.

During his career with Cigna, Manders also served as Senior Vice President and Controller of Cigna HealthCare. Prior to that, Manders held the positions of President and General Manager of Cigna HealthCare Mid-Atlantic and Cigna HealthCare Virginia. He has also held leadership positions in network operations and financial operations. Manders also spent seven years with Cigna International in several different finance positions. Prior to joining Cigna, Manders was a Senior Auditor for Transamerica Corp.

Manders received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rider University, New Jersey. He is a Certified Public Accountant. At Cigna, he is the Executive sponsor of the Health Service Leadership Program and the African-American Colleague Resource Group.
