What is the Cigna Medical Group?

Cigna Medical Group was started in 1968 by a group of nine internal medicine physicians operating out of a small office in Phoenix. Now, 38 years later, the medical group has grown from one small office to one of the Valley's largest multi-specialty health care providers. Our health care centers stretch across the Valley from Sun City West to Gilbert with more than 200 health care providers, including primary care and specialty physicians, a nursing staff and a variety of other health care providers.

We offer a wide range of quality services. Many of our valley-wide health care centers provide X-ray and lab, as well as a pharmacy services under one roof.

An in most cases, we can provide you with medical care in a single location. For example, you can come to one of our healthcare centers and visit your doctor, have a prescription filled, have blood work done and even X-rays. And with your busy schedule, we know that you have better things to do. That's why we provide you with convenient, high-quality care for you and your family in one convenient location.

Who can go to the Cigna Medical Group for care?

Cigna Medical Group is available to all CIGNA plan members. We also accept Medicare, and most Medicaid plans and all walk-in business. If you have coverage under a plan that is not offered or administered by CIGNA Healthcare, please confirm that Cigna Medical Group is a participating provider in your plan.

Along with family practice and internal medicine physicians, Cigna Medical Group clinicians provide a broad scope of medical care in more than 20 medical specialty areas. What other kinds of services are available?

A few examples of other services provided by Cigna Medical Group include urgent care, Digital Imaging, pediatrics, vision and hearing services.

Cigna Medical Group has 3 Urgent Care Centers that are conveniently located in the greater Phoenix area providing care 365 days a year, from early in the morning until late in the evening.

We also provide a broad spectrum of Digital Imaging services including routine radiography, bone density, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, ultra sounds and mammography.

In addition, we have 8 Pediatric offices throughout the Valley. The pediatricians and their staff team members strive to make health care for children as simple and accessible as possible.

Cigna Medical Group has 8 Vision Centers where patients can receive regular eye exams by a certified optometrist to identify if they need corrective lenses.

We also have ophthalmologists and vision center opticians to help patients choose frames and contact lenses that work best for them. The Vision Centers feature a wide selection of quality eyewear for every age, including progressive, anti-reflective, polarized and polycarbonate lenses with additional options like scratch and UV protection.

We have 5 Hearing Center locations staffed by licensed and certified audiologists who have several years of training and experience. The audiologists are certified to determine the degree of hearing loss and prescribe appropriate hearing instruments for the patient based on their individual needs.

Does Cigna Medical Group have its own pharmacies? Where are they and who can get a prescription filled there?

Cigna Medical Group has conveniently locatied health care centers located throughout the Valley from Sun City West to Gilbert. Patients with CIGNA prescription plans can have their prescriptions filled without ever leaving the building in most cases. You can call in your prescriptions 24-hours a day seven days a week using an automated refill system. The system allows prescriptions to be filled within 24-hours. Prescriptions are available for pick-up Monday through Friday, and even some Saturdays.

We also offer over-the-counter products with competitive pricing on over-the-counter medications when compared to major retail stores with pharmacies and offer periodic sales on various over-the-counter selections. And, if the pharmacy doesn't carry an over the counter item that the patient is looking for, we will make every effort to special order it for our customers. Go to the Pharmacies page.
