Sally has worked as a Child Development Specialist with our Pediatrics team since April of 1979. When she joined the Pediatric Department, she created this position in order to assist the pediatricians with routine Well Child issues. This team approach has been a win-win for the doctors as well as for patients. Doctors have more time to spend with the families about individual health issues, while the development specialist has more time to devote to concerns such as feeding problems, sleep problems, newborn care and family adjustment, breastfeeding issues, development milestones, toileting, behavior and discipline.
Sally's specialty is infants and toddlers, but she works with all children ages birth through 6 years. She is a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor. She particularly enjoys helping families who struggle with everyday parenting issues as she understands that raising a child isn't easy. Mary has worked with our Pediatrics team since 1988. She has a background in education and a master's degree in child development. Her extensive education in developmental and behavioral pediatrics makes her an ideal resource for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating attention deficit disorder, learning disorders, and processing deficits.
