Tips to help you save money

The best way to help keep your medical costs low is to stay in-network. Providers and facilities aligned with the Southern California Select plan and the Cigna Choice plan are covered at the in-network benefit level. Out-of-network providers are not covered except in cases of emergency or urgent care services as defined by your plan documents.1

With your Cigna HMO plan, your primary care provider (PCP), which is listed on your ID card, coordinates your care and helps keep you healthy. They will provide referrals to see specialists if needed. You will want to see your PCP for all care that is not an emergency.

  • Log in to myCigna.com or the myCigna® App and click on the “Find Care & Costs” tab.
  • Call us anytime at (800) 244-6224.

If your PCP isn’t available and you have a non-life-threatening illness or injury, consider other care options:

Convenient care clinics and urgent care centers

There’s no need for an appointment, and they can be faster and less expensive than an emergency room.

  • To find the closest in-network clinic or center, log in to myCigna.com or the myCigna App and click on the “Find Care & Costs” tab.
  • Review the "Know Before You Go" Flyer for a guide to help you know where to go when you need care.

Cigna Virtual Care Connection

You can talk with a provider via phone or video chat, whenever and wherever you need one. You can get advice for minor conditions and even most prescriptions when appropriate. The cost is the same as a PCP visit.

  • To find participating virtual care providers, log in to myCigna.com and click “Connect Now” next to “Talk to a doctor or nurse 24/7 using your phone, tablet or computer.”
  • New Behavioral Health programs and Well Check visits available via MDLive virtual care.
