Opening the files
Please be patient as these files may take a little longer to download than they do to open. Please right-click on the links above and choose "Save Target As" (Microsoft Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Netscape Navigator) to save the rate model to your hard drive.
Your security setting in excel must be set to "Medium" or "Low". If they are set to "High" the macros will not work, which means that none of the features that allow rates to be run will be active.
Security Settings in Excel
To set your security in Excel to "medium".
Close the rate model, if already open. Do not save. Open a blank Excel spreadsheet by opening Excel from your Start menu, and selecting "File" then "New". Go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Options".
Depending on the version of Excel you have, the security settings may be in different areas.
- In Excel ‘97, you’ll go to the "General" tab and uncheck "Macro Virus Protection".
- In later versions, there should be a "Security" tab.
- On the security tab, look for either a choice between "Low", "Medium" and "High" security, or a button that mentions security or macro settings. If it is a button, click on it and choose "Medium".
- Once you’ve changed that setting, click "OK" or until the window goes away.
- Close Excel then reopen it to activate the change.
Once the settings have been changed, you can open up the rate model and you will be asked if you want to "Enable" macros. Click "Yes".
