Great-West Healthcare, Now Part of CIGNA Update

CIGNA Pharmacy will handle all of the pharmacy benefits and services for the former Great-West Healthcare plans

CIGNA and Great-West Healthcare continue to make significant strides in our integration work. We’re now able to announce that CIGNA Pharmacy will handle all of the pharmacy benefits and services for the former Great-West Healthcare plans, effective during the fourth quarter of this year.

Pharmacy Transition Planned for the Fourth Quarter of 2009
As part of Great-West Healthcare’s integration, pharmacy benefits and services will transition from Express Scripts (ESI) to CIGNA Pharmacy later this year. There will be no change to plan designs, and Great-West customers will now have access to CIGNA’s specialty network, clinical programs and CIGNA Home Delivery Pharmacy service.

Individuals enrolled in Great-West Healthcare plans will receive communications in advance of the transition later this year. CIGNA Pharmacy will coordinate the transfer of home delivery and specialty drug prescriptions, and will communicate details about CIGNA's clinical programs once the transition is complete.

Great-West plan participants will continue to access MyGreatWest.com for pharmacy benefits, prescription drug lists and more. They’ll also gain access to valuable resources and tools, including CIGNA’s award-winning online Prescription Drug Price Quote Tool, which allows individuals to see real-time drug pricing information about their medications, as well as lower-cost drug options.
