Enhanced CIGNA Dental e-Service Tool

Increased functionality with our automatic Internet access to member and provider materials

CIGNA Dental is pleased to announce the next generation of our e-Service tool. When the tool was released last summer, our CIGNA Dental Care (DHMO) members and network providers were able to request and receive plan benefit information (Patient Charge Schedules) via e-mail.

Building upon the successful implementation of e-Service, we’ve added several other features to expand the functionality.

NEW AND IMPROVED FEATURES

  • Additional Patient Charge Schedules - All active Patient Charge Schedules (PCS) series, including custom schedules, are now available to be e-mailed to current and potential DHMO members. This provides consumers with instant access to information necessary to make informed, personal dental health decisions.
  • More Network Provider Access to Patient Charge Schedules – We can now customize and sort series and types of PCSs that we send to our network DHMO offices. For example, we can send the entire 06 PCS series, or all of the schedules that are applicable to a provider in a particular state. This gives our providers direct access to plan information required to treat members, as well as stay informed about the CIGNA Dental DHMO plans.
  • Creation of DHMO and PPO Provider Directories – We can now generate customized network directory listings for callers whether they are enrolled in our dental plan or not. This feature helps potential members locate the provider information they may need in order to make a decision to enroll in one of our plans. Customization options include zip code radius searches, specialty and network types, office or individual provider level searches and more!

We believe that providing requested information to our customers quickly and efficiently has many benefits including:

  • Increased consumer, member, client and provider satisfaction - Quick and easy access to the information they need instead of waiting the typical six or more business days for delivery of hard copy information.
  • Increased accuracy of information sent to customers – All requests will be validated and checked for accuracy.
  • Additional consumer tool – Potential and existing members can request and receive information about our plan benefits and network providers. 

We continue to work on more ways to expand the information available through e-Service in order to provide our customers with direct access to the information that they need – when they need it.
