CIGNA HealthCare Appoints New Market Medical Executive for Kansas City and St. Louis
CIGNA HealthCare is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jordan Ginsburg to the position of market medical executive for CIGNA's Mid America region that encompasses the Kansas City and St. Louis markets.
“We are pleased that Dr. Ginsburg will bring his leadership experiences and professional relationships to CIGNA to help us strengthen our relationships with providers and members,” said Frank Monahan, General Manager for CIGNA's Central Region. “We are happy to welcome him to our team to help us further improve the health and well-being of our members.”
Dr. Ginsburg joins CIGNA from UnitedHealthcare, where he served as medical director. He also is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, with a subspecialty in sports medicine. He has been a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and served as a team physician for the St. Louis Cardinals professional football team.
Dr. Ginsburg obtained his bachelors degree from the University of Michigan, and his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He is also the co-founder of the Midwest Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, Inc., and co-founder and a director of the Outpatient Surgery Center, Inc.

Experienced Local Leadership
Frank Monahan, General Manager
Frank Monahan is the general manager of CIGNA HealthCare’s
operations in Kansas and Missouri and is based in St.
Louis. Monahan is a seasoned executive
with 15 years of sales and marketing experience in
the health care industry. Monahan is responsible
for new sales and account management in the Kansas
and Missouri markets and oversees a sales team of more
than 30 professionals. He is also responsible for fostering
and deepening relationships with employers, providers,
brokers and consultants in the state.
A Pennsylvania native, Monahan earned his bachelor’s
degree from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
Monahan most recently served as vice president
and general manager of large group sales for Premera
Corporation. Prior to joining Premera Corporation,
Monahan was vice president of sales, marketing
and field operations for Capital Blue Cross. In
addition, he held various sales and marketing positions
at Aetna.
