For the seventh consecutive year, Intracorp has
been named the nation's leading case management
services provider by Business Insurance magazine
in their annual ranking published April 17.
Intracorp managed more than 1.2 million
cases in 2005 with a staff of more than 2,200
certified case managers. "Intracorp
has been a leading provider of personalized
and cost-effective case management solutions
for more than 35 years," says Archie
Anderson, President, Intracorp Disability
Management. "One of the first companies
of its kind, Intracorp pioneered services
that help people get the care they need,
when they need it, so they can get well and
back to productive work."
Intracorp's case managers, most of whom
are registered nurses and vocational rehabilitation
specialists, work with treating physicians
to coordinate appropriate, quality care,
ensure patient satisfaction, improve medical
outcomes, facilitate a patient's timely return
to work, and decrease overall health care
expenses.
For this ranking, Business Insurance defines
case management as coordinating and monitoring
treatment for catastrophic, complex or prolonged
illnesses and injuries -- including discharge
planning, case review provided by telephone
or on site at the employer's location, and/or
patient referrals -- as well as managing
communication among patients, providers,
carriers and third party administrators (TPAs)
throughout the course of a health, disability
or workers' compensation claim.
"Intracorp is dedicated to finding
innovative ways to help people recover from
disabilities, and to help employers better
manage their overall health and productivity
costs," says Anderson. "We are
very proud to have been recognized by Business
Insurance once again for this work."
Philadelphia-based Intracorp, a subsidiary
of CIGNA Corporation, helps employers maximize
their workers' compensation and disability
benefits programs to enhance the well-being
and productivity of their workforce. Intracorp
also offers utilization management, return-to-work
programs, ergonomic consulting, provider
bill review, provider network access, and
information management services. For more
