C. Mark Bailey to Lead National Consultant Development Initiatives

CIGNA HealthCare has appointed C. Mark Bailey to lead its national consultant development initiatives. In this role, Bailey will be responsible for CIGNA HealthCare's relationship with Towers Perrin, Hewitt Associates, Watson Wyatt, and Buck Consultants in support of CIGNA HealthCare's National Segment. Additionally, Bailey will support the central region's middle market producer business development initiatives in support of CIGNA HealthCare and CIGNA Group Insurance, and will have responsibility for CIGNA's relationship with Lockton.

Based in Dallas, Texas, Bailey most recently held the position of Senior Vice President and Market Leader for the CIGNA HealthCare national segment Southwest market, where he was responsible for new and existing business opportunities, market development, key consultant relationships, a team of account management and sales professionals, and more than 40 National Segment customers.

Prior to joining CIGNA in 2005, Bailey was Regional Vice President for the Western Region at Definity Health where he was integral in the implementation of many ground-breaking programs and the marketplace transformation around consumerism. He also held the position of Healthcare and Group Benefits Practice Leader at William M. Mercer in Dallas where he worked on healthcare strategy, managed care and welfare programs, managed time loss programs, prescription drug management and vendor management strategies. As Vice President and Chief Operating Office of Blue Cross Blue Shield's Northeast Texas business unit, he had overall responsibility for provider network and sales operations. 

Bailey holds a B.A. from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, and holds the designation of Certified Employee Benefits Representative from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
