Returning military resources
Over the next six to twelve months, many military
reservists across the country will be returning
from deployment back into the workforce. As such,
our customers will have employees who are trying
to reintegrate themselves into their former personal
and professional lives. The process of readjusting
to civilian life after a deployment can often be
difficult and emotional. Many aspects of an individual’s
life have changed or evolved during their absence;
children have gotten older, friends and family
have become more independent and company policies
may have changed. To assist our customers in planning
for the successful reintegration of returning military,
we have developed many tools and resources.
Given the dynamics of returning from military
duty, some of our members in this situation may
need extra assistance to cope with a new phase
in their lives. CIGNA Behavioral Health can play
a key role in helping these individuals and their
families deal with the transition. To this end,
we have developed the following to help our clients
support the successful reintegration of returning
military to their organization:
- Employee Outreach Letter -
letter to be used with the “Returning Military
Members Resource Guide” to inform employees
of services available to them and their families.
- Returning Military Members Resource
Guide - provides a summary of CIGNA
Behavioral Health, government, community and
nonprofit resources that can help support returning
military members in their transition back to
civilian life.
- Manager's Resource Guide - Integrating
Returning Servicemen and Women back into the
Workforce - lists a summary of resources
that can help managers identify potential behavioral
issues of returning military and provide guidance
in helping to overcome those issues.
- Manager's Telephonic Seminars -
clients to be notified about seminars designed
to help train their managers to support returning
military members.
- Bi-monthly Tip Sheets for Managers -
customers will receive tip sheets to help them
identify and deal with specific issues that could
affect returning military in the workplace.
For existing CIGNA Behavioral Health customers,
the Member and Manager Resource Guides are located
under "Current Topics" within the password-protected
member section of the website. If you are interested
in learning more about any of these tools or resources,
please contact your CIGNA Behavioral Health sales
executive or account manager.
