How to Use the Tool Kit
This tool kit is intended to address the health habits of all employees and their families.

The tool kit is designed as an obesity prevention tool that provides pro-active ideas for addressing and encouraging healthy eating and physical activity habits both at home and in the workplace.

Options for Using Tool Kit Content
Use the content in whatever way works best for your organization. Each Employer Tip Sheet can stand alone to deliver a healthy message. Make the Employee Tip Sheets, the Family Tip Sheets and Kids' Activity Pages available through your standard employee communication vehicles.

For more effective outcomes, however, an integrated approach is suggested:

  • Complete the Worksite Call to Action Challenge Survey. Assess what healthy actions are taking place at your worksite.
  • Use the results of the Worksite Call to Action Challenge Survey to identify what current healthy actions are taking place in your workplace environment. The Worksite Call to Action Challenge Survey asks questions that are directly linked to information provided on each Employer and Employee Tip Sheet so that you can easily identify which will be most helpful.
  • Set-up a supportive workplace environment. Use ideas in the Employer and Employee Tip Sheet to reinforce the healthy messages. To create a strong emphasis on one healthy behavior at a time, alternate the use of suggested displays and interactive ideas throughout the year.
  • Provide Employee Tip Sheets to reinforce the message with employees. These tip sheets reinforce healthy habits for both the work and home setting.
  • Follow-up by repeating the Worksite Call to Action Challenge Survey at intervals you deem appropriate.

Get everyone involved and show employees and their families that healthy choices CAN be appealing!
