New Members One-Time Transition Supply

For drugs that have a limitation, we will cover a temporary 30-day supply (unless the prescription is written for fewer days) at CIGNA retail and mail order network pharmacies. After the first 30-day transitional supply, we may not continue to cover these drugs under the transition policy.
For residents of long-term care facilities, we will cover a temporary 31-day transition supply (unless the prescription is written for fewer days). We will cover more than one refill of these drugs for the first 90 days. If the drug is subject to a coverage review, and is past the first 90 days of membership in our plan, we will cover a 31-day emergency supply of that drug (unless the prescription is for fewer days) while the member transitions to a formulary alternative or pursues a formulary exception.
All new member claims that will be eligible for transitional benefits will REJECT at point of sale. A Prior Authorization code (PAC) will be returned in the free text message field to aid the pharmacy in processing the claim.
