- Inpatient Hospital and Sub-Acute Facility Pre-Admission Certification & Continued Stay Review. Our pre-certification program is designed to ensure that your Members receive the right care, in the right setting, at the right time.
- Case Management Support. CIGNA's nurses work with your Members, hospitals and physicians to monitor and manage care provided to those patients who need help the most - the critically or chronically ill or injured.
- Maternity Support. This program works to achieve a healthy outcome for both mother and baby. Members receive valuable prenatal guidance and are given access to a toll-free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year answer line. A high-risk maternity screening is also conducted. When appropriate, maternity and prenatal care is subsequently coordinated and supported through a Case Management nurse to increase the likelihood of a healthy delivery for mother and baby.
- 24-Hour NurseLine Support. Members can get answers to medical questions 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year. This toll-free line also provides direction to the type of provider and level of care that best suits the symptoms and situation, and often provides an alternative to the emergency room when appropriate.
- Centers of Excellence & Organ Transplant Services. "Centers of Excellence" is a term used for recognizing the highest performing providers of a particular service. Review the LifeSource Quality Transplant Care Network information. Special care and case management support services are also provided.
- Web Tools. Through the provision of member-friendly web tools, CIGNA provides information and resources to help your Members improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle as well as enhance their ability to be a better and more efficient consumer of health care services.
