During a recent market conduct examination conducted by the Market Regulation Division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance, premium rate overcharges to some accounts were discovered. The examination covered calendar years 2002 through 2004. Cigna HealthCare of North Carolina, Inc. regrets the miscalculations that caused these health insurance premium overcharges; however, we are glad the error was found and we were able to correct it.
Cigna HealthCare of North Carolina, Inc. mailed premium reimbursement checks to its affected clients but some of these checks were returned as undeliverable.
