Other Health Awareness Tour facts . . .
- The goal of the Health Awareness Tour is to create a national awareness, a stirring of both heart and mind, about health care conditions, challenges, and solutions in the United States.
- CIGNA riders and volunteers will spend time with people across the country, engaging them in conversations about health through speaking opportunities, health fairs, and other events.
- Participants include David Cordani, president of CIGNA HealthCare, and Gary Earl, senior vice president of CIGNA HealthCare National Accounts and founder of the original Health Awareness Tour.
- The seven rides include:
- Anaheim to Sacramento (CA), 9/10 - 9/14
- Pittsburgh to Philadelphia (PA), 9/10 - 9/14
- Nashville (TN) to Atlanta (GA), 9/11 - 9/14
- Las Vegas (NV) to Phoenix (AZ), 9/12 - 9/17
- Dallas to Houston (TX), 9/18 - 9/21
- Eden Prairie (MN) to Bourbonnais (IL), 9/17 - 9/21
- Bloomfield (CT) to Scranton (PA), 9/17 - 9/21
- The first Tour was held in 2005, and featured Gary riding across the country with a team of cyclists promoting the importance of health awareness.
- The second Tour was held in 2006, and featured David and Gary leading a team of riders from Washington, D.C. to CIGNA HealthCare headquarters in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
