Motivation for joining The Tour My mother
Reasons for adopting an active lifestyle My mother has both Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's. After reading about these diseases, I have learned that having a healthy lifestyle may hopefully improve my chances of either not getting these diseases or getting them to a lesser degree. I have seen the toll it has taken on my dad, my sister, and me. I don't want that toll to be taken on my son and daughter. So, I have made a conscious effort since she was diagnosed to live a healthy lifestyle by exercising and eating well - something my mom really did not do.
Why a healthy lifestyle is important To avoid illness that is preventable with exercise and eating right. And, I see the difference it makes for my dad to be able to get out to ride his bike, play tennis and take courses at our local university.
One piece of advice to help others live a healthier life Exercise (no matter what form that is), eat healthy and save time to read.
