Motivation for joining The Tour The fantastic experience ahead of us and being engaged with team-mates and others.
Reasons for adopting an active lifestyle Good health is more a direction than a destination. I was a bicycle commuter for twenty years, and year-round for five of those years. I had a bike collision with a car in late 1995 and nearly died. I'm a living example of why bicycle helmets should be mandatory! My passion for riding and many cycling friends got me back in the saddle where I hope to stay as long as possible.
Why a healthy lifestyle is important Balance, simplicity and consideration for the environment as well as personal engagement.
One piece of advice to help others live a healthier life Be proactive and engaged with your health, your personal passions, and be faithful to your family, friends, and your values. As R. Brautigan said, "Always spend a penny as if you were spending a quarter. Always spend a quarter as if you were spending a wounded eagle. And always spend a wounded eagle as if you were pending the very sky itself." I would add...but spend.
