All 23 of CIGNA HealthCare NCQA accredited HMO and point-of-service (POS) health plans currently hold "Excellent" accreditation status - the highest rating a health plan can receive for HMO and POS products. All 23 plans have also earned "Distinction" for NCQA's Quality Plus Member Connections and Physician and Hospital Quality standards. In 2007, CIGNA HealthCare ratings met or exceeded Quality Compass® national averages in 16 of the 22 measures used for NCQA Accreditation . In addition, CIGNA HealthCare ratings were superior to our closest national competitors in at least 15 of the 22 accreditation Effectiveness of Care measures.
