North American Council on Adoptable Children
International (US/Canada). Founded 1974. Focuses on special needs
adoption. Provides referrals and maintains current listing of
adoptive parent support groups which conduct a wide range of
activities. Helps new groups get started, and sponsors an annual
adoption conference which features workshops for adoptive parents,
prospective parents, foster parents, child welfare professionals and
