Stuart Lustig, M.D., M.P.H., is a medical director for Cigna's behavioral health business and is based in San Francisco. He is also an adjunct associate professor of clinical psychiatry at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), where he served as director of child psychiatry training from 2005 to 2011. Dr. Lustig is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College and completed training in adult and child psychiatry at Stanford and Harvard hospitals. He also holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Illinois. Dr. Lustig has consulted to schools in the Bay Area and in Massachusetts, and he has been an assistant professor of psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine and a fellow in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He has published widely in numerous journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Harvard Review of Psychiatry, and he is the editor of the textbook, Advocacy Strategies for Health and Mental Health Professionals: From Patients to Policies.

Gary Earl, Senior Vice President of Cigna, is Co-Founder of Communities of Health, a social cooperative affiliated with Cigna. He is dedicated to expanding the dialog and agenda of health and cultural awareness and improvement on a local, national and global level. His work in the field of social epidemiology has spurred both he and Cigna to a new focus of understanding and investing in the establishment of communities of health for the explicit purpose of a legacy of improvement to both society and humanity.


Mr. Earl has successfully been able to connect together people and organizations, who through study, learning and connection seek meaningful, sustainable change. He has successfully demonstrated the value of such an investment in the movement, which has lead to an improvement in the environments in which people live and work.


Mr. Earl is founder and Executive Director of Health, Hope & Purpose, Inc., a nationally recognized health information non profit and is the creator and operator of the Health Awareness Tour; a annual cross-America bicycle tour that's purpose is to promote health awareness and education to all people.

Dr. Dick Salmon

Dr. Dick Salmon, Vice President and National Medical Executive for Network Performance Improvement, Cigna HealthCare, is responsible for the company's clinical network performance improvement initiatives. He is board certified in family practice. Dr. Salmon earned his medical degree and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

Andrea Houfek, M.D.

Andrea Houfek, M.D. is the medical director for urgent care and pediatrics at Cigna Medical Group. She is responsible for development, management and leadership of all aspects of the urgent care and pediatric medicine departments. This includes quality of care programs, process improvement, project implementation, operational management and clinical oversight.

Houfek joined Cigna Medical Group in 1987 and was a practicing pediatrician for 15 years before taking on the role of pediatric department chair. She soon added the role of primary care medical director. Most recently urgent care was added to her responsibilities in exchange for family and internal medicine.

Houfek obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming and earned her doctorate of medicine with honors from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency with Phoenix Hospitals Affiliated Pediatric Program and served as chief resident prior to joining Cigna Medical Group.

Houfek is a Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and a member of the steering committee for The Arizona Partnership for Immunizations (TAPI).

In her free time, Houfek enjoys swimming, skiing and traveling. She also volunteers and participates in fundraisers for the United Way, March of Dimes and the American Diabetes Association.

Miles Hall, DDS, MBA

Chief Clinical Director

Miles has been with Cigna Dental since March, 1996 and has been the Cigna Dental Chief Clinical Director since August, 2006. Dr. Hall has responsibility for clinical development of policy and product design and supports client sales and retention efforts from a clinical perspective.

Dr. Christina Stasiuk, D.O., FACOI

Health Advocate, Cigna

Dr. Stasiuk is Senior Medical Director for Medical Management at Cigna. She helps to improve the quality of medical programs and has implemented a national educational series for clinical staff. Dr. Stasiuk graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and received her M.S. at Roswell Park Memorial Institute.

Kim Hohol is a Clinical Dietitian for Cigna HealthCare at the Cigna Medical Group office in Tempe, Ariz. She is a Registered Dietitian and has a Master's Degree in Nutrition from Arizona State University. She is also a Certified Weight Management Consultant.

Kim is an instructor for the American Diabetes Association recognized Diabetes Education Program where she helps individuals lose weight and manage their diabetes, and provides one-on-one nutrition consultations. Cigna utilizes her skills for media interviews on nutrition for both television and print publications. Kim is also a community college professor teaching nutrition classes as a member of the part time faculty at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Ariz.

Jeffrey Kang, MD, MPH

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jeffrey L. Kang is the Chief Medical Officer for Cigna Corporation. Cigna's mission is to improve the health, well-being and security of the members it serves. Dr. Kang is responsible for clinical strategy and policy, coverage policy, quality measurement and improvement, value-based purchasing and design of Cigna's Health Advocacy programs.

Dr. Kang is an internist and geriatrician whose career began as the Executive Director of the Urban Medical Group, a non-profit, private group practice specializing in the care of the frail elderly and disabled. From 1994-2002 he worked for the federal government, first as a White House Fellow and then as the Chief Medical Officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (formerly HCFA). In addition to his duties at Cigna, Dr. Kang is currently the President, of the eHealth Initiative, based in Washington, DC.

Doug Nemecek, M.D., M.B.A.

National Medical Director

Dr. Doug Nemecek helps set the groundwork for clinical coordination, quality and integration for Cigna's behavioral health and health and wellness operations. As co-chair of the National Quality Improvement Committee overseeing the company's quality program, he helps ensure network access and availability, patient safety, compliance for treatment with clinical guidelines, participant and provider satisfaction and utilization management. Dr. Nemecek oversees 15 Medical Directors in clinical operations, and is the chief medical liaison for integration, quality and operations. Additionally, he works directly with customers to mold operations and provides clinical expertise in new and existing program development.

Since joining Cigna in 2002, Dr. Nemecek has helped establish workflows, protocols, and collaborative procedures to create a unified medical management team across the company. Additionally, he continues to develop unique relationships with our network providers to ensure members and providers achieve the best possible outcomes. For example, in 2006, he developed a provider contracting strategy in outpatient treatment with buprenorphine for opiate dependence. This made Cigna the first managed behavioral care company to have a specialty contracted network available, connecting members to more appropriate care.

Prior to joining Cigna, Dr. Nemecek served as Executive Medical Director for Allina Behavioral Health Services in Minneapolis, overseeing five outpatient clinics and four inpatient mental health units with over 80 mental health providers. He also has 10 years of clinical experience with an inpatient and outpatient psychiatric practice in Minneapolis.

Dr. Nemecek received his M.D. and completed his psychiatric residency at Washington University in St. Louis in 1993. He is recognized as a Distinguished Fellow with the American Psychiatric Association, is board certified by the America Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians and holds an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis.

Jodi Prohofsky, Ph.D., L.M.F.T.

Senior Vice President, Health Solutions Operations, Cigna

As senior vice president of operations for Cigna's health solutions organization, Jodi Prohofsky, Ph.D., L.M.F.T., is committed to helping people live happier, healthier and more productive lives. Since joining the company in 1992, Prohofsky has spearheaded programs that have helped the company gain national recognition for innovations in clinical care and health advocacy. She has championed an industry-leading depression disease management program, and she has been instrumental in creating evidence-based health and wellness programs, including tobacco cessation and stress management. She has also implemented a unique coaching program that helps people identify their personal motivators for making successful behavioral change. Under Prohofsky's leadership, Cigna's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has been named by readers of Business Insurance as Best EAP for the past four years.

Prohofsky has been recognized in her community with an award for Women in Business from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, as well as the Elaine McCormick-Wray Award from the Working Family Resource Center of St. Paul for her support of work/life parent education programs in the Twin Cities. Most recently, she was named to the 2008 Business Insurance list of 25 "Women to Watch."

Prohofsky is the author of textbooks, as well as many journal articles, and she has presented at numerous conferences. She has been a spokesperson for Cigna on a wide variety of topics related to mental health and emotional well-being and has been quoted in national publications such as USA Today and the Washington Post; regional publications such as the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Daily Herald, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the St. Paul Pioneer Press and the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal; and a number of trade publications such as Behavioral Health Management, Employee Benefit News and Business Insurance. She has been heard on NPR, the Voice of America and radio stations nationwide, and she has also appeared on local television.

Dr. Cary Sun

Dental director at Cigna Dental

Dr. Cary Sun is the Western Regional Dental Director for Cigna Dental. He joined Cigna Dental in 2004 and oversees the clinical operations and quality management activities of the region.

Dr. Sun obtained his D.D.S. degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1989 and completed a General Practice Residency at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Loma Linda. He brings to his role 20 years of clinical and industry experience in the area of quality management.

Dr. Sun maintains an active dental license in the State of California and is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of Dental Consultants, National Association of Dental Plans, and California Association of Dental Plans.

Lenore T. Kelley, R.Ph

Lenore has been with Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy for over twenty years, becoming Chief Pharmacist and Site Leader of the Horsham, PA facility in 2008.

As Chief Pharmacist, Lenore is responsible for ensuring that Cigna's home delivery pharmacy operates in accordance with all applicable pharmacy laws, achieves all quality standards and meets customer expectations. She and her team of pharmacists focus on their customers' pharmacy needs while coordinating with their physicians and other Cigna clinical teams to provide answers and resolve questions and concerns, with the goal of improving the health and well-being of each individual they serve.

Since becoming Chief Pharmacist, Lenore has been responsible for providing a simple, unified approach to customers which has resulted in reducing the time it takes to fill and deliver a prescription, increased efficiency of pharmacy operations, increased customer outreach and consultation, and improved customer satisfaction.

Lenore has a B.S. in Pharmacy from Rutgers University and an M.A. in Liberal Arts from Temple University. She is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers program and is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She holds active pharmacist licenses in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Tennessee

Lenore lives in North Wales, Pennsylvania with her husband and three children where she volunteers at her church and her children's school.

Jon Hughes

President/Co-Owner Track Shack and Event Marketing and Management Int.

Recognized as a leader in the sport of running, Jon began running competitively at Winter Park High, and continued running at Seminole Community College and Appalachian State. He has since completed 12 marathons, including Boston, Berlin, Chicago and Marine Corps. Since the late 1970's, Jon has pioneered the organization of amateur athletic events, first in his home-base of Central Florida and today throughout the world.

He has been recognized for his outstanding leadership and organizational achievements by the Florida Athletics Congress (USATF), the Pan American Junior Games, the Governor of Florida, and the Grand Bahamas Promotions Board. Jon was one of the youngest inductees into the Florida Track & Field Hall of Fame; admitted in 1987 at the age of 29. In 2008, he and his wife Betsy Hughes (Track Shack Co-owner) were inducted into the Running Event Hall of Fame, and the Running USA Hall of Champions in 2009. Also in 2009, Jon became a member of the Running USA Board of Directors.

Jon has been the Race Director of the Walt Disney World Marathon since it's inception in 1994. His expertise has led him all over the world. As president of EMMI, he directs the overall marketing effort as well as operations and staff, and has positioned the organization to offer the best in technology, marketing and management skills.

Mark Marsters

Mark Marsters joined Cigna Group Insurance as Senior Vice President of Claim Management Solutions (CMS) in January 2003. In this position, Marsters has oversight of the Disability, Life and Accident claim organizations as well as Service Operations.

Marsters joined Cigna from Unum, where he served as Vice President of Customer Care Operations with responsibility for disability claims management. He has held a variety of leadership positions throughout his tenure, including roles in Policy Administration and Underwriting in the individual and group disability lines of business.

Marsters earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine and attended both the Disability Institute of the Wharton School of Business and the Pennsylvania State University Financial Leadership Program. In addition, he holds designations through the Association of Health and Life Claims and the Health Insurance Association, as well as being a Registered Health Underwriter and Certified FMLA Administrator.

Ken LeBeau, MS, LP, CEAP

Director of Employee Assistance Programs for Cigna

Prior to joining the company in 1991 as an EAP consultant, LeBeau provided residential, inpatient and outpatient clinical treatment for children, adolescents and adults, and he had a private practice focused on EAP and critical incident response services. LeBeau holds a bachelor's degree in human development and psychology and a master's degree in clinical psychology.

Vice President, Expert Resources Group

As Vice President, Expert Resources Group for Cigna's Group Insurance division, Beth Chiappetta is responsible for the organization's return-to-work programs.

She leads a team of vocational counselors who are focused solely on helping people return-to-work.

Gary Kirkner is President of Cigna's Regional Group Sales. He is a national thought leader on the evolving role that disability, life and accident products play as individuals manage their health, well-being and sense of security and employers seek to reduce related costs. He is also an expert on health and disability integration and workplace productivity.

Diane Russell is vice president of products at Cigna Group Insurance.

Robert N. Anfield, MD, JD, FAAFP

Dr. Anfield is the chief medical officer for Cigna's disability programs and works in the Dallas regional office. He is a thought leader and spokesman for integrated disability and healthcare programs and strategies. His other responsibilities include hiring, training and managing physicians reviewing claims and appeals for the core claims teams; engaging the attending physicians of Cigna customers; and developing medical training for the core claims teams.

With more than 20 years of experience in disability management at several major U.S. corporations, Dr. Anfield has helped define

the role, authority and accountability of physicians within the claim process. Dr. Anfield has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Social Security (2002) and before the Social Security Advisory Board (2005) regarding private sector disability programs and recommendations to improve the Social Security Administration's disability claim process.

Dr. Anfield is board certified in Family Medicine and holds degrees from Indiana University School of Medicine and the UCLA School of Law. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Stephanie Templeton, MBA, RD, LDN

Stephanie Templeton works as a Health Advisor /Nutrition Specialist for Cigna Total Health Management in Pittsburgh, PA. She is a Registered Dietitian and has a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, she is a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist through the state of Pennsylvania.Stephanie serves as an integral member of the Personal Health Team, providing individuals with health coaching. She works closely with other Health Advisor nurses and allied health professionals to provide individual nutrition and health coaching. Cigna utilizes her skills for media interviews on nutrition for both television and print publications. Stephanie is very active in professional dietetic organizations, recently serving on the Board of Directors for both the local and state Associations.

Nicolette S. Shriver

Nicolette S. Shriver is the Health Advocate Director for Cigna Onsite Health. Nicolette is an ASCM Clinical Exercise Specialist, with over a decade of experience in wellness. Her educational background includes an M.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and B.S. in Exercise Science-Fitness and Cardiac Rehabilitation from Ithaca College. Nicolette's professional experience includes research, education, cardiac rehabilitation, fitness and wellness. Her fitness and wellness experience include developing, implementing and delivering group and personal fitness and nutrition programs for healthy, at risk and chronically diseased populations.

Joseph Jasser, MD

Dr. Joseph Jasser joined Cigna Medical Group in July 2009. He is the medical director for adult medicine for Cigna Medical Group's network of healthcare centers. He is also responsible for Medicare bed-day management, clinician recruitment and retention, service enhancement, and program development.

Prior to joining CMG, Dr. Jasser was regional medical director for Concentra Health Services in Houston, TX where he oversaw 25 clinics in South Texas, Houston and Louisiana. During his tenure at Concentra, Dr. Jasser was also corporate medical director for Bridgestone/Firestone in Akron, OH and the on-site medical director for BenVenue Laboratories in Bedford, OH. In these roles, Dr. Jasser was responsible for consulting with workplace safety committees, medical oversight of OSHA and regulatory compliance, and medical management of short- term disability and long-term disability.

A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH, Dr. Jasser completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Summa Health System/Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Akron, OH. He is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Tony Massey

Dr. Anthony Massey is a senior medical director for Cigna's behavioral health business. He has been a practicing psychiatrist in public and private inpatient and outpatient settings and has also held an assistant professorship in the departments of Psychiatry and Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine, completed a fellowship in managed care psychiatry at the University of Maryland Hospital and holds board certifications in both psychiatry and addiction medicine.

John Boland, BS, AAS

John Boland is a Health Educator with Cigna. He has worked in the health and fitness field for more than 20 years. He has a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from the University of Pittsburgh and an Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Michael Alexander

Michael Alexander, M.D., received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Alexander is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular diseases.

Dr. Alexander has been with Cigna since 2005 and is currently a Cigna Medical Director with responsibilities in all levels of medical review; he frequently assists in the development of coverage positions pertaining to cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Alexander is frequent lecturer on the topic of cardiology and cardiac processes and is an adjunct professor in the School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University.

Stacy Popko

Stacey Popko, M.D., is a Medical Director at Cigna Healthcare and works at the Pittsburgh Care Center. Dr. Popko is a graduate of The Medical College of Pennsylvania and is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. After practicing primary care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings in the Pittsburgh area, Dr. Popko joined Cigna in 2005.

Dr. Popko has extensive experience at Cigna in the case management arena as well as utilization management. She has collaborated with regional clients to develop strategies to improve the health of their populations. Dr. Popko's strong primary care background and interest in wellness, behavior change and prevention have led her to her current role as the medical director for the coaching and case management programs in Pittsburgh.

Leslie Barakat

Leslie Barakat, M.D. is the pediatric medical executive at Cigna Medical Group. In addition to her medical executive responsibilities, Barakat maintains a large patient volume as a general pediatrician at Cigna Medical Group's Westridge Medical Office in Phoenix, where she has practiced since 2004.

Outside of work, Barakat is active in advocacy groups that support universal vaccinations for all children and has a special interest in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Currently, Barakat is on the Medical Champions Committee for SARRC (Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center) and is involved as a clinician and committee member for the TOPS program, which screens underserved student athletes for medical conditions prior to sports involvement. She also serves as vice president of development for Soul Sanctuary in the Desert, a transitional home and personal development program for at-risk mothers and their children.

Barakat obtained her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and earned her doctorate of medicine with honors from The Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency with the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Barakat is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Association, Maricopa Medical Society, and the Phoenix Pediatrics Society.

Sheila Sudhakar, MD

Sheila Sudhakar, M.D., is an internal medicine primary care physician with the Phoenix-based Cigna Medical Group. Dr. Sudhakar joined Cigna Medical Group in 2003 and is very active in educating her patients about preventive care and healthy living. She is also actively involved with the American Diabetes Association's "Walk With Your Doc" program.

Lenore has been with Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy for over twenty years, becoming Chief Pharmacist and Site Leader of the Horsham, PA facility in 2008.

As Chief Pharmacist, Lenore is responsible for ensuring that Cigna's home delivery pharmacy operates in accordance with all applicable pharmacy laws, achieves all quality standards and meets customer expectations. She and her team of pharmacists focus on their customers' pharmacy needs while coordinating with their physicians and other Cigna clinical teams to provide answers and resolve questions and concerns, with the goal of improving the health and well-being of each individual they serve.

Since becoming Chief Pharmacist, Lenore has been responsible for providing a simple, unified approach to customers which has resulted in reducing the time it takes to fill and deliver a prescription, increased efficiency of pharmacy operations, increased customer outreach and consultation, and improved customer satisfaction.

Lenore has a B.S. in Pharmacy from Rutgers University and an M.A. in Liberal Arts from Temple University. She is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers program and is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She holds active pharmacist licenses in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Tennessee

Lenore lives in North Wales, Pennsylvania with her husband and three children where she volunteers at her church and her children's school.
