Amphetamines produce increased alertness and a feeling of euphoria. Common amphetamine medicines include dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) and methamphetamine (Desoxyn).
Amphetamines can be abused and are sometimes sold illegally with names such as speed, ice, and lid poppers.
