If you have had symptoms, such as a TIA or mild stroke, but you don't know the amount of stenosis (narrowing) in your carotid arteries, you need to see your doctor for an evaluation of the percentage of narrowing you have. Then, together, you can make a decision about whether you need an endarterectomy.
