Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is uncontrolled ejaculation either before or shortly after sexual intercourse begins. Ejaculation occurs before the person wishes it, with minimal sexual stimulation.

Premature ejaculation is the most common form of male sexual dysfunction. The cause is often unclear. But it may be related to lack of sexual experience or to psychological factors such as anxiety or depression. Or it may be related to a medical problem or a side effect of medicines.

Treatment of premature ejaculation depends on the cause of the problem. It may include counseling, behavior therapy, or, in some cases, medicines that delay or inhibit orgasm.
