Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

Respiratory syncytial virus infection, often called RSV, is a common childhood infection that can cause a runny nose, coughing, and wheezing. Most people get over RSV with home care.

In some people, especially young children, RSV may lead to pneumonia or another breathing problem called bronchiolitis and need oxygen and hospital care.
