Eligible members may receive 100% reimbursement* for their out-of-pocket payment to the dentist for:

• periodontal scaling and root planing;
• periodontal maintenance.

CIGNA Dental uses claims data to identify individuals enrolled in both medical and dental CIGNA benefits who have been treated for gum disease. To improve the oral health of its members, CIGNA:

• Uses this information in its outreach programs to educate identified members in disease management programs.
• Educates on the importance of maintaining good oral health.
• Reinforces need to complete periodontal treatment.
• Provides value-added tools for case managers.
