CIGNA LIFESOURCE Transplant Network® gives CIGNA HealthCare members access to independent transplant centers that are nationally recognized for their quality care. We currently have more than 100 facilities in our network. Each is carefully chosen and must continue to meet our stringent quality standards. We assess several factors, including:
- patient outcomes
- staff training and experience
- number of transplants performed
- waiting periods
- availability of housing arrangements and transportation for patients' families
- geographic location and accessibility
- availability of transplant organs in the geographic area of the facility
Your personal support system.
We know that visiting a quality facility isn't always enough — you also need a strong support system to help you through a difficult time. We can evaluate your special needs and help ensure you're as comfortable as possible by providing you with personalized support, including:
- Travel Benefits — so you can choose the facility that's right for you, even if it's out-of-state. We'll reimburse you up to $10,000 in travel expenses for you and a family member; two family members if a child is the patient. Please be sure to confirm with your case manager whether you are eligible for this benefit. - Individualized Case Management — by a specially trained nurse. Your nurse case manager provides support, reassurance, and can even help you manage your health care benefits
