There are three valid forms of benefit coverage identification:

CIGNA Medicare Rx individuals have been instructed to provide one form of benefit identification at the pharmacy to obtain their prescription medication. If a CIGNA Medicare Rx individual requests a prescription fill and does not have an ID card or letter, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-222-6700 to confirm coverage (TTY/TTD users should call 1-800-322-1451). CIGNA Medicare Rx representatives are available 8 am - 8 pm local time, 7 days a week.
The CIGNA Pharmacy Service Center phone number is 1-800-558-9363.
Effective 1/1/2012, to avoid a Point-of-Sale rejection, Pharmacists will be required to enter all 11 characters of an individual's identification number from their CIGNA ID card. The ID number begins with the letter U, which will be the first of the 11 characters. This will be followed up by the 8 digit Alternate Member Identifier (AMI), then the 2 digit person code, typically 01. Please do not include the space located between the last digit of the AMI and the first digit of the person code. The U + 8 digit AMI + 2 digit person code = 11 characters.
