Go. Know. Take Control.
Americans use preventive services at only about half the recommended rate, despite it being covered by most health insurance plans.1 In fact, most Americans are more in tune with their pets’ medical needs than when they should go for their own doctor appointments.1
To help, Cigna launched a mobile clinic with a staff of health coaches to improve people’s understanding of their biometric measurements and plan follow-up steps. The screenings are for four key health numbers:
- Blood pressure
- Blood cholesterol
- Blood sugar
- Body mass index (BMI)
Knowing those four numbers goes a long way toward being able to identify risks for chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease, Cigna studies show.2 Additionally, the mobile approach of the Health Improvement Tour removes many of the reasons people give when it comes to neglecting their own healthcare, such as finding an adequate time for an appointment, avoiding missing work for an appointment, and travel time to the doctor’s office.
The Health Improvement Tour is an expansion of Cigna's corporate responsibility and philanthropic efforts to bring industry-leading health and well-being programs to communities throughout the country.
