PHILADELPHIA - May 21, 2011 - Cigna's Worksite Vocational Services program earned highest honors in the Rehabilitation Case Management category at the Third Annual Case in Point Platinum Awards, created by publisher Dorland Health. The awards recognize the most successful and innovative case management programs that help improve health care across the care continuum.

Cigna's Worksite Vocational Services program helps employers improve their return-to-work programs, educates managers and employees on relevant topics such as using proper ergonomics and managing their own health conditions at work, and provides return-to-work and stay-at-work services to at-risk employees when they need it most.

"Cigna's strong showing in the Case in Point Platinum Awards underscores what's possible when innovative programs are combined with a passion for improving lives," said Mark Marsters, senior vice president of operations for Cigna's disability insurance business. "We congratulate not only our colleagues who developed this award-winning program, but also our case managers who every day help our customers overcome obstacles and lead healthier and more productive lives."

The award entries were judged by a panel of experts from the clinical and business sectors of health care. Also serving as judges were the staff of Case in Point magazine and Case in Point Weekly. Entries were evaluated based on the proven track record and success of their programs.

Dorland Health, an Access Intelligence, LLC Company, is a leading integrated media publisher in the health care business information industry. It publishes Case In Point, the official magazine of the Case Management Society of America, as well as the Case Management Resource Guide, Case In Point Weekly and various special reports; and it offers industry webinars, award programs and continuing education credits.

"Throughout Disability Insurance Awareness Month in May, we're focusing on the people behind the benefits. This award is a clear reflection of the innovative ways we help our customers stay healthy and return to health, but also illuminates the great work of the people who make these programs successful," said Marsters.
