BLOOMFIELD, Conn. - June 25, 2018 - The Asian/South Asian Colleague Resource Group (CRG) at Cigna was recognized with an Above and Beyond Award for community impact from Diversity Best Practices, a division of Working Mother Media.

The Above and Beyond Awards pay tribute to organizations who demonstrate exceptional contributions to the community. Recipients have established best practices in diversity and inclusion to drive impact and improvement in the community's well-being.

"We're proud of Cigna's Asian/South Asian CRG and honored by this award. Our CRG helps Cigna understand the cultural needs of our employees, customers and communities, and is equipping our clinical partners with resources to reduce health disparities that affect Asians," said David Figliuzzi, Cigna's diversity director.

The awards were presented at the annual Diversity Best Practices' Network & Affinity Leadership Congress (NALC).

"It's wonderful to see the increasing influence Employee Resource Groups have over their corporate culture by implementing positive change," says Deborah Munster, executive director, Diversity Best Practices. "Year over year, these amazing companies and their employees continue to inspire and lead the way toward greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace and we are so happy to be able to honor their contributions with the Above and Beyond Awards."

The Above and Beyond awards are presented in four categories including Business Impact, Community Impact, Valued Ally, and Affinity Group Leadership. Awards are decided by a panel of seasoned Diversity & Inclusion executives and thought leaders, and members of the Diversity Best Practices team.
