Program Summary
Cigna's HealthService Leadership Program (HLP) focuses on building general leadership talent through executive coaching, dynamic rotational roles, and personalized development to create a pipeline for future executive positions at Cigna. Through a series of four rotations each lasting 12 to 24 months in business lines that align to Cigna’s enterprise strategy, the HLP will help you refine your general management and leadership skills through several experiences such as leadership assessments, mentorship, business acumen, and experiential learning.
Functional Areas for Rotations
Most rotations are completed in the following functional areas: Marketing, Product, Finance, Service Operations, Strategy and Business Development, Operational Effectiveness, Pharmacy, Underwriting, and Sales Effectiveness. Program associates are often aligned with business segments that include: U.S. commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, government and higher education, hospitals, third party and private insurance exchanges, life, accident, disability, voluntary benefits, and global benefits.
Qualifications for Full Time and Summer Associates
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, or Health Administration, with a strong academic record
- Four to five years of business related work experience. (Refer to the FAQ page for more information.)
- An interest in health care and desire to work within a dynamic marketplace
- Passion and dedication to become a business leader in the health service industry
- Demonstrated ability to influence across a matrixed organization
- Strong business acumen along with leadership, innovative thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills
- Aptitude to work strategically in a variety of functions and environments with a global mindset
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Perseverance, interpersonal savvy, ability to deal with ambiguity, customer focus, and courage
- Geographically mobile with a willingness to relocate to Bloomfield, CT, Cigna's Healthcare Global Headquarters
