Kim Shepard Named Cigna Market President for Arizona Health Plans
PHOENIX - January 10, 2018 - Cigna (NYSE:CI) has named Kim Shepard as market president for its commercial health care and related benefits plans in Arizona. Shepard is returning to the Arizona market, where she previously served for several years as vice president of sales. She is based in Phoenix.
In her new role, Shepard's responsibilities include driving market growth by creating customer value and ensuring that the local market strategy, product and network offerings meet evolving customer and client needs. She will also partner with area health care professionals and health systems, including Cigna Medical Group, to help improve the health of Cigna customers, and lead Cigna's efforts to serve the communities of Arizona.
"Kim brings both significant experience in the health care and benefits industries and a passion for serving our customers to her new role," said Ralph Holmes, Cigna regional vice president for Arizona and Texas. "She already has strong ties in Arizona and will help Cigna continue to be the partner of choice for employers, health care providers, community organizations and customers in the state."
Kim has been with Cigna for over 15 years, most recently in an operations leadership role in the South Texas market. Prior to that, she served as vice president of sales for Arizona and as a sales leader in Texas. Over the course of her 35 years in the industry, Kim has also held leadership roles at UnitedHealthcare (Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico) and Hewitt Associates.
Kim has served as a Board member of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, the American Liver Foundation Mountain States Chapter and the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce. She is active with the Boys and Girls Club and the American Heart Association.
