Spring cleaning season might be over, but the time for summer DIY projects are just around the corner. So how about this: In addition to building something out of recycled pallet wood and converting your old windows into picture frames, why don’t you turn yourself into a DIY project?
Granted, you’re already amazing. But there’s always the opportunity to mold yourself into someone even more. And we’re here to help. Remember when we said to turn your “To Be” list into “I Am?” No matter who you decide to be, you’ll always be you.
So what are some things you can do to replenish yourself for the summer?
1. Get outside
Walking, gardening, biking, beaching – whatever it takes to bask in the sunshine – are vital for you to take full advantage of the summer sun. Absorb some vitamin D (with plenty of sunscreen, of course) and let your skin warm up.
2. Pen-in “me” time
All you have to do is give yourself is five minutes a day when you turn off your computer and cellphone and reserve time to yourself. Reflect on your day, how you feel, and what you’re looking forward to. Or you can just sit and think about nothing at all.
We’re not all yogis, but stretching is a proven mood booster. Peggy Hall, a wellness expert, told Shape that it “increases your blood flow and circulation for a healthier body, and sends oxygen to your brain for a clearer mind and sunnier moods.”
