When you become a member of the AEDP at Cigna, you will differentiate yourself as you explore the many developmental rotation opportunities available to support you. These varied opportunities will help you to go as far as your talent and drive will take you in a strong actuarial community within a global market.Following are just a few of the many great reasons why AEDP can help make that happen.
A fully dedicated program director, who is also an FSA, will work closely with you in identifying diverse roles to develop your skills while providing challenging work and responsibilities. While helping you grow into a business leader at Cigna, these work experiences will directly impact business results. AEDP members generally have three or four rotations lasting approximately two years each, in which they explore different product areas, business functions, and competency developments opportunities.
Along with the mentorship program, we offer formal and informal training sessions, community involvement opportunities, exposure to senior executives, and much more.
Our well-connected, large actuarial community of over 200 actuaries provides a large informal support and mentorship network, along with helpful formal training sessions on how to sit for and pass exams. We’re proud that the Cigna AEDP maintains a long-term pass rate of 65%, which is well above the Society of Actuaries (SOA) average pass rate.
AEDP members are expected to rapidly attain their SOA while making a valuable contribution to Cigna’s businesses. The program financially supports exam fees and study materials, as well as paid study time.
Be part of a large, welcoming community of actuaries and AEDP associates in your local office, as well as across the United States and around the globe! We have a cohesive community of over 200 FSAs and program members. Program members and actuarial leaders make themselves available to provide one-on-one career advice, role and technical process advice, as well as to discuss their roles and perspective of the health care industry. Many celebrations such as bowl-a-thons, happy hours, and community service events are happening so you can easily connect with, and build personal relationships within the AEDP community in a comfortable environment. Program members also get together for other fun, informal events such as skiing, sporting events and exploring the city!
