There’s no getting around it: accidents happen. Having an Accident Treatment Insurance policy can help protect you from the high costs of medical care by paying you a fixed indemnity benefit. How can an Accident Treatment Insurance policy help you?
- Benefits for a range of accidental injuries, treatments, and related costs.
- Your policy can be tailored to your needs and budget.
- Benefits are paid directly to you (or anyone you assign) and there are no restrictions on how you use it. Use the cash to help pay:
- Deductibles, coinsurance, copays (no network restrictions)
- Related medical expenses
- Household expenses like rent or mortgage, groceries, childcare, housekeeper, etc.
- Coverage continues after your first accident, so you’re covered for future accidents.
- Includes coverage for you, your spouse, and/or your dependent(s).
- Policy is guaranteed renewable to age 80.2
- Available for ages 18-74.

We can also help you customize your supplemental coverage to fit your needs. Riders offer coverage for specific situations and can be added for an additional monthly amount.3 Consider adding one or more of the following riders for even more coverage (these summaries contain highlights only and are subject to change):
A cancer diagnosis can happen at any time. Cancer coverage can help pay for the extra costs associated with treatment. With our lump sum cancer rider, if you're diagnosed with cancer4, you get 100% of your chosen benefit amount, from $5,000-$100,000*. You can use this money however you’d like.
A heart attack, stroke, or other heart-related surgery can be costly. With our Lump Sum Heart Attack and Stroke Rider, you get a percentage of your chosen benefit amount–from $5,000-$100,000*– if you get a diagnosis5 or procedure for one of the qualifying events.
With our Hospital Indemnity Benefit Rider, you can get extra benefits if you:
- Get sick and need hospital care
- Have complications of pregnancy
- Get hurt and need a hospital stay
This rider will pay the chosen benefit amount. It ranges from $100-$1,000* for each day (at least 24 hours) that you are confined6 in a hospital.7
A stay in the intensive care unit can be stressful, but this rider provides a cash benefit amount if your stay is the result of:
- An injury
- A sickness
- A complication of pregnancy
Benefit amounts range from $100-$1,000* for each day (at least 24 hours) that you are confined6 in the ICU as an inpatient.
Get the benefits of both the Hospital Indemnity Benefit Rider and the ICU Indemnity Benefit Rider combined. We'll pay the chosen benefit amount, from $100-$1,000*, for each day you are confined6 in a hospital7 as an inpatient—and double if confined6 in the ICU as an inpatient.
Our Return of Premium Rider can give you some peace of mind if your policy is unused at the time of your death. Your loved ones could get 100% of all premiums paid (policy and riders) from the rider effective date, less any claims paid. The policy must be paid up and in force at the time of death.
Kaitlyn lives an active lifestyle–her weekend adventures could potentially bring injuries. She knew people who had big hospital bills for accidents and injuries. So she planned ahead and kept an Accident Treatment policy, just in case. For around $15 dollars a month, she worried less when out hiking, skiing, and biking.
One day out mountain biking with friends, she crashed into a tree. An ambulance took her to the hospital where she stayed overnight. She was released the next day on crutches with lots of bruises and a cast on her leg. She would have multiple follow-up visits to a specialist and physical therapy. Fortunately, her Accident Treatment policy paid her a cash benefit, which helped pay her hospital bill as well as monthly bills while she was out of work and recovering.
