Riders offer coverage for specific situations and can be added for an additional monthly amount.5 Consider adding one or more of the following riders for even more coverage (these summaries contain highlights only and are subject to change):

Accident Fixed Indemnity Rider

This rider pays a fixed indemnity benefit when you suffer covered injuries in a covered accident.

This rider also includes benefits for accidental death and dismemberment. Issue ages from 18-74 and guarantee renewable until age 80*. Please consult your outline of coverage for a full list of benefits and benefit amounts.

*Policy cannot be canceled as long as you pay your premium when due. Subject to the company’s right to raise premiums on a class basis.

Lump Sum Cancer Benefit Builder Rider

This rider can be added to the Lump Sum Heart Attack and Stroke policy to gradually increase your benefit amount over time. Each year, on the rider anniversary date, we will increase the policy benefit amount by the amount you select, $500 or $1,000*, while the rider remains in force. This annual benefit amount will continue to build each year until the 35th rider anniversary date.

Heart Attack and Stroke Restoration Benefit Rider

A heart attack, stroke or other heart-related surgery can be costly. With our Heart Attack and Stroke Restoration Benefit Rider, you get a percentage of your chosen benefit amount – from $5,000 to $50,000 – should you receive a diagnosis of a covered heart attack or stroke or if you have a qualifying procedure, subject to the maximum benefit amount.2 Benefits will also be paid if you are diagnosed with subsequent covered heart attacks, strokes or require a heart transplant, provided the date of your last diagnosis for a heart attack, stroke or heart transplant was at least two years from your current diagnosis.

Specified Disease Benefit Rider

The Specified Disease Rider pays a lump sum benefit if you get a diagnosis* or procedure from a physician for one of the covered specified diseases.

*Diagnosis must be made within the United States.

Charlotte's story

When Charlotte had a heart attack, she was grateful that the doctors were able to stabilize her condition. But she learned that there was permanent damage to her heart. Charlotte began to see her expenses adding up quickly. Even with health insurance, things such as medical deductibles, co-insurance and payments for her doctor’s visits were her responsibility.

Luckily, Charlotte had purchased a Lump Sum Heart Attack and Stroke Policy for less than $1 per day.1 She received a cash benefit as a result of her heart attack. This support let Charlotte focus more on her recovery and less on how she was going to pay her bills.
