Cigna-HealthSpring STAR+PLUS

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Cigna-HealthSpring started in 2000. It’s now one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing coordinated care plans whose primary focus is Medicare Advantage plans. Cigna-HealthSpring has Medicare Advantage plans in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C., as well as a national stand-alone prescription drug plan.

Given our long partnership with dual-eligible beneficiaries, we are very excited to offer services to our valued members by expanding into Medicaid health care across many states.

Cigna-HealthSpring offers the STAR+PLUS plan to eligible individuals and families. With office locations in McAllen, Laredo, Tyler and Bedford, TX, Cigna-HealthSpring is right in your backyard. Our Service Coordinators live and work in your neighborhood. Our goal at Cigna-HealthSpring is to help you and your family receive the best health care you can get.


STAR+PLUS Medicaid Managed Care Program

STAR+PLUS is a Texas Medicaid managed care program for people who have disabilities or are age 65 or older. People in the STAR+PLUS managed care program get Medicaid health-care and long term services and support through a medical program that they choose. People who live in a nursing facility may also be able to get STAR+PLUS Medicaid.

Cigna-HealthSpring works with the State of Texas to help individuals and families get health coverage in the Texas STAR+PLUS Program. Cigna-HealthSpring offers STAR+PLUS in Hidalgo, MRSA-Northeast, and Tarrant Service Delivery Areas (SDA). You can find a list of the counties we serve under each SDA here.
