Cigna Pathwell Bone & Joint – A New Standard of Care for Musculoskeletal Conditions

Cigna Pathwell Bone & Joint, a condition-specific care program, will help employees with spine, hip, knee, or shoulder pain get on the right treatment path, reduce unnecessary surgeries, and reduce your organization’s spend. Customers will have access to designated providers who meet quality and cost criteria, a clinical navigation experience supported by a Clinical Care Advocate2 that helps them make the right decisions about their care, and benefit design that rewards customers for optimal care choices.

Get Ahead of High Costs

Using predictive models, we can help identify customers at risk for spine, knee, hip, or shoulder surgery up to one year in advance3 and proactively reach out to encourage enrollment in the Pathwell Bone & Joint program to help arrange proper support.

Personal Care Advocate

A Care Advocate will work 1:1 with your employees via digital messaging or over the phone. They will customize the program’s insights and assessment responses to each employee’s unique needs, all while guiding, motivating, and encouraging their success.

Digital Guidance and Engagement

We help employees take greater control of their MSK pain with our guided digital experience. Powered by insights and evidence-based guidelines, the digital experience includes personalized activities, assessments, content, treatment guidance support, care navigation tools, and more.

The Right Care at the Right Time

When care is needed, we help connect your employees with top-tier, in-network providers (either in person or virtually) and help optimize available benefits. Employees also have access to programs that may support their medical, behavioral, or lifestyle needs throughout their MSK journey.

Surgery Benefit

If faced with surgery, employees will have access to designated, in-network orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons that meet rigorous Cigna affordability, quality, volume, and outcome selection criteria. The benefit includes zero or low-cost surgery,4 pre- and post-surgery support, and a travel benefit.
