We continue to closely monitor the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and our top priority is the safety and service of our customers, clients, employees and partners. We are encouraging everyone to follow the guidance provided by local health authorities, the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Cigna is taking a number of important actions to help protect against the spread of the virus and to help ease the financial impact associated with COVID-19 testing and treatment.

In our March 30 press release, we announced that we are:

  • Waiving customer cost-sharing for all COVID-19 treatment through May 31, 2020.
  • Increasing capacity for virtual care by providing additional support for the medical community and partnering with Buoy Health, an artificial-intelligence powered navigation platform to provide a free, web-based interactive triage tool that assesses COVID-19 risk.

These additional measures are an expansion of Cigna's previous efforts to protect customers, providers and communities against COVID-19. The company has already committed to the following actions through May 31, 2020:
