How to Find Care That’s Right for You With the Clearity Plan

Seeing your copay costs upfront can help you get care with confidence.

How is searching for care different with the Clearity plan?

It’s different because it’s so simple. Just log in to the myCigna® app1 or myCigna.com and in seconds, you can see what your cost will be for different types of care. Here’s all you have to do:

    • Type what's wrong in the search bar. It can be as simple as “I have a sore throat.”
    • View your provider, care facility, and copay options. You will see what your visit will cost before you go for care. This plan has no deductible and no coinsurance; the copay you see is what you’ll pay.
    • Compare locations and verified patient reviews to help in your selection.

Will I really know what I’ll pay for each visit?

That’s the beauty of the Clearity plan. On myCigna, the copay cost is shown for each provider and facility in your search. So, you can quickly and easily pick the cost and care option that works best for you.

How will I know if a provider is right for me?

Choosing your doctor or provider is a personal decision. You may want one who’s close to where you live. You might need a provider who specializes in the kind of care you need. Or you may prefer one gender over another to make you more comfortable at your appointments.

Reading verified patient reviews can also help. myCigna shows all this information for each provider, making it easier to select care that fits your needs.

What if my current doctor has a higher copay than the others?

While reviewing your care options on myCigna, you may find that your doctor is in-network but doesn’t have the lowest copay when compared to others. If you want to continue seeing your in-network doctor, you can. If your goal is to reduce your out-of-pocket costs, you may consider some of the other providers available with lower copays.

    When should I compare providers?

Every time you need care, you should log in to myCigna before your visit. This can help you stay in control of your health care costs.

    • When you need same-day care: Whether you woke up with a fever and sore throat or twisted your ankle, you can quickly find and compare costs for various providers and facilities, such as convenience care, virtual urgent care2, or a doctor near you.
    • If you have an upcoming procedure: If you have knee surgery scheduled, are expecting a baby and want to plan ahead for delivery, or need an MRI or other diagnostic test, you can compare copays from different providers to help you choose one that fits your needs and budget.
    • If you need follow-up care: If your doctor wants you to go for lab work, get an imaging test, or see a specialist, simply search for a provider on myCigna the same way you would for any type of care. Then let your doctor know where you want them to send the lab order or referral so that you control costs and get the care you need.

Don’t forget: The copay you see on myCigna is what you’ll pay.
