Mentor Program

Mentoring. For those who haven't done it, it may sound like an awesome responsibility. And, of course, it is. Having a young person looking to you for guidance, even for a few hours a week, is a challenge unlike any other. But, as a group of CIGNA's Philadelphia employees discovered when they signed on to mentor students in the Benjamin Franklin High School, it's a challenge like no other.

Mostly it comes down to simply being there and listening. Our people listened and the students responded, using phrases like, "She teaches us about the future." "He keeps me on track." "She tries to help you prepare for challenges in life."

Being there and listening. That's the approach that CIGNA people take: in business, and in serving their community.
