Cigna Civic Affairs

Making Every Dollar Count

Cigna has designated a special group of contributions professionals—its Civic Affairs team—to coordinate all its charitable giving and fundraising programs. This targeted approach ensures that our charitable efforts have the greatest possible positive impact on the health of individuals, families and communities.

The Civic Affairs team is responsible for administering all Cigna Giving programs and managing these major Cigna fundraising campaigns:

  • March of Dimes—since 1995, Cigna and its people have provided more than $25 million to the March of Dimes to assist its efforts on behalf of healthy babies and healthy moms. The annual March of Dimes March for Babies campaign brings together thousands of Cigna families each spring to demonstrate our support. For more information on the March of Dimes, visit the website at MarchofDimes.com.
  • United Way—Cigna has always considered its partnership with the United Way to be a major part of its responsibility as a corporate citizen. From 1986 through 2010, Cigna and its people have donated approximately $85 million to United Way organizations in our communities.

The Civic Affairs team also organizes numerous office-based volunteer efforts and supports the individual volunteer and charitable commitments of Cigna's people.

As a part of its mandate, Civic Affairs manages the operations of the Cigna Foundation, an independent entity providing support to charitable activities that reflect Cigna's inclusive approach to enhancing the health of individuals and families and the well-being of our communities.
