Funding sustainable clean water programs and education

Clean water and sanitation are widely accepted as the essential foundation of good health around the world. A unique Cigna initiative combined charitable giving and e-learning expertise to create a free, interactive educational program that spreads knowledge about this crucial resource—while at the same time giving people the chance to help others.

The Cigna team created an online health education game that lets individuals test their health care knowledge. The Cigna Foundation pledged to make a grant to Water for People based on the number of questions answered correctly. Water for People is a non-profit organization that funds safe drinking water and delivers sustainable clean water programs in developing countries.

Cigna helped provide nearly 55,000 days of clean water to school children in India because of this remarkable collaboration. We also spread a healthy message about our water resources to people everywhere.
