Strong Ethics Equal Good Business
Cigna has a culture of compliance with laws and corporate ethics. Integrity helps drive everything we do: our strong compliance program is modeled after the Federal Sentencing Guidelines established by the US Department of Justice.

Cigna values the importance of speaking up regarding potential ethics or compliance issues. When a Cigna employee, in good faith, reports Code of Ethics and Principles of Conduct concerns, or participates in an investigation of these matters, he/she will not be subject to retaliation. Any Cigna employee who engages in retaliation is subject to disciplinary action up to, and including, termination.
Cigna also has a strong risk assessment and reporting process that ensures monitoring and regular updating of significant compliance issues. Quarterly reports are shared with our Executive Leadership Team and Board or Directors.
Our ethics and compliance training and communications programs reinforce the respect for ethics and compliance that is expected of members of the Cigna team at every level. The ethics training program requires annual affirmation statements from all employees. We regularly provide educational communications to our Cigna team that strongly convey the importance of "doing the right thing" for Cigna and for our millions of customers, clients and partners around the globe.
Stakeholder Communications
Essential to an open and productive relationship with external stakeholders - including investors, the media, and current and prospective business partners - is our commitment to transparency around our business operations and results.
We offer a variety of communication channels:
- Quarterly reporting of financial results with non-GAAP financial summary
- Investor events that bring investors and analysts together with members of the Cigna executive team, such as during earnings conference calls, investor conferences and, the annual shareholder meeting
