As more states pass legislation decriminalizing or legalizing recreational marijuana, the increased availability of high-potency cannabis products raises the potential for health risks, especially among teens and emerging adults—including addiction. Listen in as Hazelden Betty Ford’s Regional Medical Director and addiction specialist Victor (Vic) Vines, MD, talks about health implications of high-potency marijuana. Like any addictive substance, marijuana can be used by some people without major consequence. For others, dependence can develop along with mental health issues and cognitive impairment. Dr. Vines will also discuss the impact on the developing brain of teen and young adults. The content provided on this web site is for educational purposes only.
