What are Indemnity Vision Care plans?
Indemnity Vision Care plan lets you visit any licensed eye care professional. There are no in- or out-of- network requirements.
If you choose a Vision Indemnity plan through Cigna, it's important to know you can:1
- Schedule an eye exam with any licensed eye care professional you like.
- Buy eyeglasses or contacts from your vision care professional if your employer's plan has a materials allowance (e.g., frame and lenses or contact lenses). A materials allowance is how much the vision plan will pay toward the eyeglasses, lenses and contacts.
- Pay the bill when you get the service or buy eye care materials.
- Send us a claim form with an itemized receipt for processing according to your plan benefits.
1Plan deductibles, coinsurance, copays, frequency limitations, allowances, and options may apply. Not all vision exams, materials or services are covered. For example, exams and materials required by an employer, medical or surgical treatment of the eyes, and any experimental or non-conventional treatment or devices are generally not covered. Some plans limit coverage to materials only. This is not a complete list of exclusions or limitations and the terms of your employer’s specific plan may vary. Please refer to your plan documents or contact your employer for more information on costs and what’s covered and not covered by the plan.
Vision plans are insured and/or administered by Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company.
