Some Medicare Advantage plans have extra benefits that give you even more access to important health care resources. These benefits are also called “Supplemental Benefits for Medicare Advantage plans.”
You can also check your Evidence of Coverage (EOC) to see if these benefits are included in your plan.
Over-the-Counter (OTC) Program
The OTC benefit provides you with a quarterly allowance to order your OTC medications and products up to 12 times per calendar year. The dollar value of your quarterly allowance depends on your plan.
How do I use my quarterly allowance?
You can use your full quarterly allowance anytime during the quarter. OTC orders are limited to 1 order per customer per calendar month. You can place your order anytime during the month. Unused balances roll forward each quarter, but must be used by December 31. Balances do not carry over year to year.
What can I order with my quarterly allowance?
You can order items such as bandages, aspirin, cold and sinus medicine, and vitamins and minerals. Review your OTC product catalog included in your Welcome Kit or end-of-the-year renewal mailing, or download an OTC catalog.

Your plan may include routine health-related transportation for a certain number of non-emergency, one-way trips to or from approved health-related facilities within 60 miles.
What does my transportation benefit cover?
Your transportation benefit covers vans, taxis, wheelchair-equipped vehicles, or Lyft rideshare service (where available) arranged through Cigna’s transportation vendor, Access2Care. Any other means of non-emergency transportation requires authorization. The maximum number of trips varies according to your plan.
How do I schedule transportation services?
To schedule your transportation services or to learn more about your benefit, please contact Access2Care. You must request transportation 48 hours before your appointment.

Yearly Dental Allowance
Your Cigna Medicare Advantage plan may offer a yearly dental allowance that can be used toward non-Medicare-covered preventive or comprehensive dental services.

How to use your Dental Allowance:
Dental allowance limit and balance – Refer to your Benefit Guide brochure or Evidence of Coverage (EOC) document to see if your plan includes the dental allowance and your allowance amount. To check your balance, you or your dentist’s office can call the Cigna dental benefits line.
Finding a dentist – You have flexibility when choosing a dentist. You can go to any licensed dentist that accepts Medicare. The dentist does not have to be in the Cigna Dental network because the allowance benefit is not connected to any network, including the Cigna Dental network. You should call the dentist’s office directly to confirm they will accept the dental allowance. When you call the dentist, ask “Do you accept Medicare?” If the dentist asks what insurance you have, you can tell them “I have Cigna Medicare health insurance, but this allowance benefit is not connected to a network and only needs the dentist to accept Medicare”. The Cigna dental benefits line can also assist in locating a dental provider near you.
What your allowance covers – You can use your allowance towards preventive and comprehensive services such as cleanings, exams, x-rays, fillings, root canals, extractions, crowns and night guards. Your allowance does not cover cosmetic services such as teeth whitening, enamel shaping, veneers, and crowns done solely for cosmetic reasons. If you have a question on whether a specific service is covered, you can contact the Cigna dental benefits line.
Cost of dental services – All dentists have different rates for their services and can provide you with those amounts. You can call the dentist and ask for a “pre-treatment estimate” and they will tell you the amount for the services you need. Think of it as a “quote” for future work. You can use this cost information to determine the best use of your allowance and manage your services.
Payment – You pay nothing if you have funds in your allowance to cover the cost of eligible services. If your allowance doesn’t fully cover your services, you will be required to pay the dentist for costs over and above your allowance amount. No payment is required in advance until you reach your allowance limit. Once you reach your limit, you’re responsible for 100 percent of the charges. Both the customer and the provider will be able to check the remaining allowance amount by calling the Cigna dental benefits line.

Your Cigna Medicare Advantage plan includes Medicare-covered vision services, such as well eye exams and diabetic retinal and glaucoma exams if you are at high risk. It may also include supplemental vision services for a routine eye exam and/or a yearly allowance toward the cost of lenses, frames, or contacts. Vision services must be obtained from a provider within Cigna’s vision vendor network to be covered.

Taking care of your hearing is important. Your Cigna plan may include an additional hearing benefit that covers a routine hearing exam, hearing aid fitting evaluation, and a hearing aid allowance. This benefit is managed by our hearing health vendor, Hearing Care Solutions.
How do I get hearing benefits?
You must contact Hearing Care Solutions to take advantage of your hearing benefits. A separate primary care provider/specialist cost-share will apply if additional services requiring cost-sharing are provided. You are responsible for all costs over the maximum coverage amount.

How do I enroll?
There are 2 ways to enroll:
Get help after your hospital or skilled nursing facility stay with our post-hospital meal program. This benefit is offered through GA Foods and provides 14 nutritious meals delivered to your home after each qualifying stay. It can help make your transition back home more comfortable.
When can I use this benefit?
You can use this benefit after you are discharged from an acute inpatient hospital, or skilled nursing facility stay, up to 3 times per year. The benefit does not apply to discharge from a behavioral health facility.
