Partners and Community Connections

Keeping us connected to the communities we serve and giving us insight into the needs of local governments.

Strategic Partners

We work with city and county local professional organizations to understand their health care needs.

International City/County Management Association (ICMA)

As a strategic and exclusive health care sponsor, Cigna works to help local governments find solutions to their health care needs and stay ahead of industry trends. We share insights and information to help member cities and towns better manage health care costs.

National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA)

We help the NFBPA support the development of future generations of public administrators to build stronger, heathier communities around the world. As a sponsor of the NFBPA, we provide national scholarships to young men and women.

National League of Cities (NLC)

Cigna is an executive sponsor of NLC and a sponsor of NLC’s Women’s and African American constituency groups. We work with NLC to help elected municipal officials implement new ideas and best practices to help them achieve their goals.

Blessings in a Backpack

The organization provides backpacks filled with nutritious food for school children to take home for the weekend and currently feeds over 92,700 children in more than 1,064 schools in more than 47 states. Cigna sponsored our first schools in 2013 and continues to sponsor more schools each year.

Cigna Foundation

Combining Cigna employees’ passion and expertise with strategic financial support, the Cigna Foundation is helping make better health a reality for individuals and communities around the globe.

ChildObesity180

As part of the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, this project is dedicated to reversing the trend of childhood obesity. Cigna was instrumental in the launch of the Active Schools Acceleration Project (ASAP) and is the lead sponsor in the $1 million of ASAP Acceleration Grants designed to increase students’ opportunities for physical activity by putting simple, low-cost and innovative programs into action.

Girls on the Run International

Cigna is a national sponsor of this youth development program for girls in third to eighth grade that teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with a celebratory 5K running event.
